This month's topic is accessible voting options for people with disabilities.
Presenters are experts in this field and vow to educate all attendees on information that impacts you or someone you care about. Whether you're a voter with accessibility needs, a family member, a poll worker, or simply a citizen committed to inclusive democracy, this session will equip you with vital knowledge and practical tools.
Speakers:
Dr. Diane Cordry Golden has over 45 years of experience working in the disability, education, and assistive/accessible technology field at the local, state, and national levels. She has testified at congressional hearings on issues surrounding accessible voting equipment and is a frequent presenter on accessible voting systems. Since 2009, Dr. Golden has served as an accessibility technical expert on the Technical Guidelines Development Committee, as established by the Help America Vote Act. She is a member of LWVKC and is part of their observer corps. She co-chairs the Voter Access for People with Disabilities Committee of the LWVMO.
Barbara Sheinbein is retired and a longtime member of the League of Women Voters. She served as a Metro St. Louis Board member for three years. Currently, she serves as the League's Chair for the Voter Access for People with Disabilities Committee and Co-Chair for the Missouri committee of the same name.
The Voter Power Hour is an informative bimonthly webinar sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Missouri. It is accessible to anyone as a FREE service to the voting community.
