Remembering Julie Adolphson

We lost our valued Julie Adolphson in a tragic automobile accident on April 14. Herobituaryhonors her life as a wife and mother of four sons, an air force pilot and meteorologist.

 

After her retirement she brought her energies to the League of Women Voters where she was a tireless advocate for voting rights.

LWVKC Annual Meeting Is Saturday, May 10!

It's Annual Meeting Time: We Need You To Vote!

 

The National League of Women Voters has declared we are in a constitutional crisis. How do we support the national response?How do we respond at the local level? What can you do as a member of the League of Women Voters, KC? Come to the annual meeting on Saturday, May 10 at 9:30 a.m. and find out.

 

After months of small group discussion from board and general members, we are coming together to finalize our Program (action plan). We need you there so your voice can be heard. This meeting is for members and invited guests. Want to join us? The Zoom link for members ishere.

Please bring a coffee cup if you can attend the annual meeting in person. We provide the coffee but you need to bring a cup. And join us for lunch after the meeting at Taqueria Mexico #2.

League of Women Voters Missouri State Convention is June 7 - Come be a Delegate!

The Perils of Growth

The League has enjoyed tremendous growth over the past several years. Since I joined during Covid, the League has almost tripled in membership. I credit a renewed interest in protecting democracy for the surge, with many new members in the generations described with various letters at the end of the alphabet. What a time to be involved in the League.
